Here he is back in 2003 when he won the California State Contest for the first time.

So I just got off the phone with him and today he extended his reign as California’s hero. Ahhh, if only his unfortunate competitors had realized on that fateful day that the meek geek with glasses and sweet gelled hair was going to best them that year and the five following, maybe they wouldn’t have gotten their hopes up. Ah well. There’s always next year. Yeah. Right.
